THE INHERITANCE (2025)
Short Film Comedy / Drama
Two fighting siblings may nearly destroy themselves to find a gift their grandmother left for them.
The goal
This was the third 48 Hour Film Project I had competed in.
With the high-speed production skills gained from working on EN GARDE (2024) and LITTLE CHEF (2024), I felt I could explore my directing style a bit more on this one.
I wanted to centre THE INHERITANCE on an incompatible duo whilst lending to the camera work of SUCCESSION.
the process
Familiar collaborators returned on this project—DP Steven Zeng and editor Hayden Eick (both of whom worked on EN GARDE).
To take the audience on this road comedy, we shot the film across a studio space, a family home, and street locations in Northern California.
the result
The film premiered at the 48 Hour Film Project, Bay Area.
