Inspired by the work of British Social Realism such as THIS IS ENGLAND, I wanted to explore race and class dynamics in Hong Kong.
the process
The script was shaped around the two leading actors in the film—who genuinely worked as a banker and truck driver.
We shot in Hong Kong on location in office and warehouse spaces.
the result
The film was a Semi-Finalist at the Los Angeles Film Awards 2019.
It screened at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific FIlm Archive in 2023.
